September came along and it was time for the Wedding of Josie and Connor at Bowden Hall Hotel in Upton St Leonards. A Georgian hotel surrounded by beautiful grounds sat in the Cotswold countryside. I love this wedding venue as it is lovely and has some beautiful spots in the grounds for photos.
The day started with a lovely relaxed vibe at home with Josie and all her girls, even the cat was enjoying all the fun. The prosecco was flowing and the smiles were infectious all around the room. After enjoying some pampering and popping the prosecco it was time to head on over to the hotel. Josie and her dad headed over in his old car which was certainly grabbing attention in the street outside.
One of the most touching moments had to be when Josie and Connor first saw each other when Josie was walking down the aisle. Both were flooded with tears of joy and happiness and you could tell they were so excited to see each other. Before you knew it nearly everyone was crying with happiness. It is moments like these that bring me so much joy in my role on your wedding day. If you ever need one I always carry around a tissue in my pocket.
After the very touching ceremony they decided to go downstairs onto the terrace to have confetti shots. The terrace was the perfect spot for this as everyone could throw some confetti at the happy couple and then sit outside enjoying the sunshine straight after. We also chose this spot for some of the group shots of the day.
Later on in the day we set off with the ‘bride tribe’ as I like to call it for some fun group shots. There is a lovely little couples bench in the grounds at Bowden Hall which is perfect for these shots. Whenever I take these types of photos I always get the group to look at each other and just chat to each other trying to make each other laugh. Trust me it sounds weird but it always delivers more natural photographs. You won’t find me asking you to say ‘cheeeese’ at the camera – it doesn’t work and they are never natural, plus it is damn annoying!

I also had great fun shooting this wedding with another fantastic supplier. Kieran from SBK Wedding was creating their masterpiece of a wedding film. If you are looking for a videographer then this is your guy. Whilst we were sat down eating food he was creating a masterpiece of a 1 minute wedding highlights film which he then put on in the main room for evening guests to see.
The beautiful flowers were stunningly created by the amazing Kopend Creations. These guys are fantastic at creating beautiful bouquets and centrepieces to fit any style of wedding. I would highly recommend these guys, not only are they creative geniuses but the most kind and caring people you will ever meet. They take enormous pride in all their work and no job is too big or small for them.
First dance time and Dan their DJ from Gloucestershire Discos was all set with confetti cannons. He had mentioned to me before the first dance the best ways we could work the angles to get the shot. He even mentioned how much confetti they created and he wasn’t joking. They create HUGE amounts of confetti that lots of the children and adults after the first dance loved throwing in the air.
