September came along and it was time to meet Sarah and Marc for their Bowden Hall Autumn Engagement shoot in Upton St Leonard’s. They chose to have their shoot at the hotel as they wanted to use it as a mini practice run before their big day at the end of November. We were incredibly fortunate that the weather was on our side and we had a beautiful afternoon shoot.
We had some time strolling round the gardens of the venue picking our some spots for photos then and there as well as for on their wedding day. Turns out on their wedding day it was raining most of the day so we didn’t venture down into the grounds, check out their wedding day here for what we did instead.
It is always useful to have engagement shoots at your venue but they also don’t have to be there. Engagement shoots are all about you getting to know me (and the camera) and I you. We just chat about your day what you want and I give you some pointers on couples photos. Sarah’s favourite on their shoot was whispering something funny into each others ears. I love this one too as it helps gets you both relaxed and laughing always makes great photos.
Sarah had also brought along something else to have a practice with… Confetti! This wasn’t just any old confetti, this was biodegradable SNOW confetti. I had never seen or used this before so was very excited to see how it would come out in photos. We discovered it floats very nicely but we definitely needed lots of guests to help throw it in the air. It turned out perfectly on their wedding day and did look like snow was falling.
