Oriel Hotel WEDDING

Angharad and Owain

August 2022 was the time for Angharad and Owain to get hitched with their English/Welsh ceremony. That is right Angharad and Owain wanted to conduct their ceremony in both English and Welsh. Both being Welsh speakers themselves it made for a truly fantastic and special ceremony to be a part of. Each part of the ceremony was spoken in Welsh followed by the same in English. Owain’s first language was Welsh and Angharad learnt at school so they decided to have this a big part of their ceremony.

After their ceremony we headed for some couple portraits around Owain’s family home before heading over to the Oriel Hotel for their wedding reception. The rest of their day consisted of lots of laughter, wonderful fun and lots of dancing!

One of the loveliest spots at the Oriel Hotel is their Japanese inspired garden. We headed over their for some couples portraits in the beautiful evening sunshine. It also makes the perfect backdrop of group photos and a confetti tunnel.

Tips from this Oriel hotel wedding to take to yours:

  • Definitely head to their Japanese garden area for some photos together. Or if your venue has a unique garden offering lots of spots for photos, utilise the area as much as possible. You won’t be disappointed.
  • First language not English? Why not have a bilingual ceremony? Embrace your heritage as much as you want. At the end of the day it is your wedding day and you should do everything you want to!
