Set in the lovely village of Upton St Leonards, Bowden Hall Hotel is a beautiful venue perfect for a wedding at any time of year. Surrounded by the beautiful Cotswolds and 12 acres of land, woodland and even a small lake. It is a stunning Georgian building which is stylish and modern whilst still showcasing it’s Georgian features including their grand staircase.
I have shot a number of weddings and engagement shoots at Bowden Hall now and the grounds are always a must for portraits. They have some lovely walkways, trees and even the lake nearer the bottom. It is the perfect backdrop for relaxed walking shots and even sparklers in the evening with some of your guests. The main terrace area is the best spot for your drinks reception and your confetti photos. I often shoot confetti and group shots outside with the beautiful hotel in the background.
After come canapes and chatting to your guests I tend to steal you away for some couples shots in the grounds. There is a lovely little bench under the large tree on the lawn. Here is the perfect spot for some wedding party group photos too.
Bowden Hall is the perfect hotel if you have lots of guests coming from further afield. They have so many rooms your guests can book to stay in – it is rather like a maze when it comes to upstairs! Not only is there vast amounts of accommodation but there are several locations you can use on your wedding day. Your ceremony can be upstairs on the first floor in the Ambassador suite. It has stunning views over the lawns outside and the gorgeous bay windows.
If you are looking to have more guests join you later head on down to the Lakeside suite. A brilliant space for food and dancing the night away!
