Brill Windmill Engagement

James and Lisa

In February 2023, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the lovely James and Lisa on their Brill Windmill Engagement shoot. It was an extra special one for me as Lisa is actually my sister in law! We headed back to the lovely little village of Brill in Buckinghamshire. This was the spot that James proposed to Lisa whilst having a little picnic last year. It was absolutely freezing so coffees and hot chocolates were a must!

The location was brilliant (pardon the pun) as the sun was beginning to shine and the windmill made for a great background feature. Lisa had brought a picnic blanket that we used for a few sitting down shots as well as a blanket between coffee sips!

If you like the Hobbit then you should definitely check out this little village. The hills around the windmill are lovely and have lots of Hobbiton vibes!

Tips from this Brill Windmill Engagement shoot for yours:

  •  Head on back to the spot you got engaged!! Lisa and James chose to head on back to recreate their little picnic to remind them of their special day. You can relax and have a bit of fun together – don’t worry you don’t have to repropose again unless you want to!
  • Windmills are awesome have a shoot with one!
  • If it’s cold outside grab a cuppa and bring it with you. We can hide them in the shots and no one will know!
